Any beach where people crowd and gather in fairly large numbers is a potential spot. It's not so much the geographic location as it is the demographics. In other words, research where tourists (careless in wearing jewelry to the beach) frequent and if you can, pick where wealthier ones visit (they have the good jewelry and want to show it off). After a day on the beach, they leave for dinner...then YOU hit the beach. During the day, watch where they gather and put their blankets, and wade/swim. There is a lot of competition for the loot, so don't be surprised to see other hunters hitting the beaches. But, grid out an area and work it thoroughly, not everything gets found on the first pass. The DFX is an incredible wet-sand machine. Use the beach and jewelry program, learn the tones, and dig every signal...that's how we water hunters work. Don't forget to do your ground balance on the sand you intend to hunt. Work parallel to the beach, that way your detector won't be constantly trying to ground balance...it's more stable that way. Everybody on these forums are extremely helpful in telling you HOW to detect, but not WHERE to detect. That part is the expected hard work and is required by those making this a commitment, not just a casual hobby. Good luck in your hunting!
