Hey everyone I am new to the forum. I dug what appears to be a cut copper, but I’m not sure what kind it is. In the first picture you can see what appears to be lady liberty’s hair but I can’t match it up with anything. Maybe it’s older? Any help would be great I am itching to find out what coin this was. It feels heavy and it is not flaky it rang up like silver but it shows oxidation (and it’s also brown lol) so I think it’s a copper someone cut.

My guess is it's a piece of a large cent, the size of it makes me think that's what it is.
The reason it may have been cut is to be able to divide it's worth and maybe buy more.

Not common practice to cut coppers especially a half cent. Although I have found cut cents might be for repairs.
