HELP!!! IS WHAT I FOUND AN WWII GUN???:help:

Mr Metal

New member
Hi I was in the woods today :detecting: and got several signals that each covered a huge area,(one almost as big as a car) when I finally found a small signal. So I dug it up and brought it home and washed it and found what appered to be some sort of gun. Can anyone help me identify it, and if it is a gun which one? Here are the pics...

the quality of the metal in a gun is very good if not excellent and would be in much better condition

If you really want to learn more about it. If it is important to you, you might consider using electrolysis to remove the rust. There are plenty of web sites that will tell you how to use washing soda and a battery charger to drive off the rust and expose the bare metal.

That is not a gun, nor is it a scissor jack. That is a car bumper jack from about the 50'-60's, probably a GM make.. I recognized it as the same one my dad would cuss at each time he used it, probably why that particular one was buried until you dug it up. Worth about ten cents. In good condition.

Do you think that it might be a car???

Better check with your local authorities about unsolved cases....You might have just found Elvis, Michael Jackson, or Jimmy Hoffa...lol...Seriously though..It MIGHT be a burried car.

HH,

Remember to dig A L L targets. Gee, maybe you will find Mike Mercury's body inside. I think Supercar could travel underground couldn't it?

Be a lot cooler if it was a gun. If you don't care about what it is beat on it with a hammer a bit. Or don't beat on it and tell people it is a gun. Looks an awful lot like some art project.

The Car, Because some people thought that was a good way to dispose of them. Back at a time when a 1936 Ford (or Chevy or whatever) wasn't worth a small fortune. You just may find anything burried in the woods up to and including a full on military duce and a half 6 x 6. Sometimes things got stuck and were just abandoned, then sunk in some sub-irrigated piece of the world.

Good Luck (and go dig the car) I would
Jeff
