im new as i said before.this is about sensitivity, should i turn it up higher in fields with no metal around like rails or playground equimpment ect. any help with this would be great, thanks

I'm not sure of the settings on the Prizm, but I would think you could turn up the sensitivity to where the machine becomes erratic, then back down until stable. You can also use a lot less discrimination in fields, this will give you more depth. I would dig anything in a field that sounds remotely good as there is hardly any trash to deal with. Many good finds come from old fields and if there's a farmhouse nearby, the finds are even better. Good luck, Ron

My 2-cents worth is try it and see how it works for you. Different conditions for different settings. You can always back it down some if it does go erratic/give false signals. Thats one of the good things about detectors is having the ability to adjust it for different conditions and user preference. If I go to a new area, I generally might use the presets for a bit then make adjustments to the detector a little at a time as I go along.
