Need some help identifying this pin I found in the garden at my parents house. The house dates to around 1850 but I doubt this is that old. Any help will be appreciated. The back sayd A.H. Donderg then 3 other letters I cant read, then Wasg D.C. Sterling.

Thanks in advance

don't know realy. maybe curator award or metal. curator is in charge of museum or works there. art history, Smithsonian comes to mind since it is in DC and maker was in Washington too. might be quite valueable if it is associated with the history of some famous museum in DC.

Albert H. Dondero (?) Inc. Washington DC 1921 first listed 1921 as emblems at 310 Machinist's Bldg & continued there thru 1925 . In 1930 listed as badges at 730 17th Street & in 1935 as same at 1718 Pennsylvania Avenue. Frim manufactured military insigna and advertised as founded in 1920.

so you know who where when but not what. it is a start.

Thanks everyone. Found a couple of sites that have great info and pics on Dondero pins. Mostly made military pins starting in 1922. Searched through the different branches of the U.S. military's DI insignia's(way too many) and havent found it yet. Nor have I found that motto being used by any U.S. military units. Have sent a couple emails to the sites to see if they can help. Hopefully they know exactly what it is.
