Help identifying knife and another item

Hi all!

I hunt an old late 1800's ghost town near where I live in Oklahoma. I noticed some folks were blading and leveling an area for a barn. I hunt their property quite frequently and I couldn't pass up this opportunity. They told me to hunt the bladed area all I wanted. I found these two items and I was looking for any help on identification.

The first object is obviously a knife. Any thoughts on the maker or a good method for cleaning the knife?

The second object was found within feet of the knife. Almost has holes like a flute maybe? Any ideas on what this tube like object could be?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

use to come in the tool kits for cars like the VW beetle. Just a guess. Kelley (Texas) :)

I would say a butter knife also. The third and forth picture looks to be an old type of curling iron. Hollow and with the holes.........heat it up and wrap it around your hair. Maybe not "your" hair. But a lady's long locks would work. HH, Nancy

The third and fourth pictures look to be part of a telescoping tube like we have on some metal detectors. But since it looks to be made of copper and the third hole is larger than the other three, I'll guess someone tried to invent or repair something and tried making the part out of copper because it was on hand or easier to drill. If the holes are one inch centered I would say telescoping tube. And the first two pictures are of a kitchen/dining utensil used to slice butter.

The butter knife was called a "Master Butter Knife", you took butter and put it on your bread plate. It was considered very gauche and low-brow and low rent and a major breach of etiquette to use the Master Butter Knife to butter your bread. Only one came with a set of silverware.

The other thing looks like a whistle or small flute, you didn't say what it was made of, but looks like copper or brass.
