Help identifying button

Hello,
I recently found this old button with my XLT in a very old area of NW N.C. The front has no pattern or markings at all as it probably had a cap which is long gone. However, the back does have a legible "Robinson & Co. * Extra Rich *" with 3 rings around the center.
I found some sites that list the following Robinson backmarks for THE ROBINSON COMPANY:
"OBED AND OTIS ROBINSON" 1812-1826
"RICHARD ROBINSON & CO." 1826-1828
"ROBINSON, JONES & CO." 1828-1836
"R. & W. ROBINSON" 1836-1848
"D. EVANS & CO." 1848-1945
Some are close but nothing is an exact match. Does anyone have any idea about the age/history of this button? I'm sure it isn't worth much in this condition but I am really curious about it's history. Thanks for any help anyone provides!
Mark

Hi Mark; your b/m could have been used on a number of buttons. Without knowing what the front was, it will be nearly impossible to correctly ID. However, it is very possible that your button back went to a NA-86 Navy button. I would estimate your button back to be circa 1850s. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
