help identifying a token

tmanly

New member
I believe it was from Maryland as the gentleman who lived in the house moved here in the 60's and lived there until his death. He was a printer at a print company there until he retired. Any help would be helpful. It was found at about 4" deep.

Thanks
Tom in SC

The Monaghan Mill was a textile weaving mill, built in 1900, that ceased production and closed down in 2001. Apparently it's now been converted into apartments.

The letters VMC on the token stand for Victor-Monaghan Company, which was formed in 1917, and ran the mill up until 1946.
