Help identify this coin

I found this copper coin last Saturday. It has United States of America across the top and under America it has what looks like HASF. It has what looks like the number 130 on the obverse and a large 4 and D on the reverse. I am trying to post it from a usb flash drive. It won't let me upload the file due to size limitations. I will try and load image resizer on this flash drive and try again.

I finally got my image resizer downloaded from my hard drive at the house to the usb and it looks like it's going to work. Anybody know what this is.

is it copper? what size is it? it kinda looks like a star burst on it.. I think there is coins with something like a star burst.. or sun burst, or just rays going out.. maybe.. maybe that will help? I sure dont know what it is..

I see now you said copper.. but approx size? Could that be a 100 and not 130? like 1 over 100?? that would be large cent 1796 maybe..draped bust.. but that looks like a confederate flag// I'm looking thru my coin book at different coins and that flag, or X or whatever the heck it is is give me fits.. I dont see that any where.. I was thinking token.. but it wouldnt have USA on it would it? going nuts here trying to figure it out!

My friend who owns a coin shop said it might be a civil war token, hard times or such.. they made them in all kinds of metals and sizes. mostly large cent size and not like our modern penny size. I've been googling them and so far no luck.. but start there maybe..

Looks like it may have a State or City name under The United States Of Anerica?

What have you got over there that has HASF as part of the name??

first picture on the second post.. I see a hatchet!! I was looking for a flag but now I see a hatchet crossing something.. maybe a peace pipe or another hatchet.. maybe a tomahawk?? :bouncy: getting closer!!

Possibly, Louisiana Purchase E Pluribus Five cents 1893

What we thought was HASF is in fact HASE. plus a bit in front of that it becomes Purchase and Louisiana fits nicely in front of that. The 189 is visable so stick a 3 at the end and Walla!! a possibl ID?

Thats a 2004 jefferson nickel.. that is the peace medal on the back. But I think you have something there.. I think that its along those lines anyway. He says its copper but we dont know the size yet. time to look again for peace medal coins. To bad the coin shop is closed tomorrow.

It is listed in my trusty book as an 1893 Luisiana Purchase Commemorative coin. It is stamped 1893??
Where do you get the 2004 from?

E pluribus unum (/ˈiː ˈplʊərɨbəs ˈuːnəm/; Latin [ˈeː ˈpluːrɪbʊs ˈuːnũː])

the picture thats shown is the back of the 2004 nickel. What he has is copper. I think you are along the right lines though! Just not a nickel.

That may be it. It sure looks like it but with the corrosion damage it's hard to tell. Where did you find this coin photo? Any idea of the value? I realize the coin I found is probably not worth anything, but just curious. Thanks.
