Was checking out my older finds and came across this button found in a field in Suffolk. Does anyone recognize it or have any idea if it has any collectible value. It is in great shape as you can see from the pictures. Thanks in advance for any help.

The wide shield is indicative of the 1850-1860's General Service Eagle buttons. And I love the patina on it.Nice going on the button.Daniel

Daniel,

Thanks for the info. It is in the best condition of any of the buttons I have found. I soaked it in olive oil for a week and wiped it with a soft cloth. It sure looked like a "keeper" to me.

regards,
Hollis
