Found this not too long ago in a park where a house burnt down in the 60's. The crest on it is very unique, possibly union?
 
just guessing i don't know the size of your object but i just recently found an old aluminum hub cap maybe 4" across,with a duck flying out of water with tall grass in the background.that would be my guess a hub cap if the size is right HH!
 
Haha nice find. I should have shown a comparison with the picture. I just measured it and it has a diameter of 2"
