HELP ID THESE ITEMS

I found this at a plantation that was built in the 1700's. On one side it has the year 1919 and below that it has the number 24. On the other side of it, it has the name "D.E. BRADY" and below that is reads "GLASGOW VA."

I also found a button in a different area. It reads, "Union" on the top, "N&W" in the middle, then at the bottom, "MADE." All together it looks like this UNION

I would appreciate any information on what it is or what type of value they may have.
 
My husband and I found these 2 metallic rocks and we have no idea what they are. They are very shiny and smooth. The larger one was found at about 10" and the readout was 98+ on our Fisher F2
 
The first one looks like a pole tag off a utility pole, but I can't find any info on Brady...The second is off a pair of N&W bib overalls

blf...what area of the country did you find those in??? Look a lot like silver ore...

o.k handsome--i think diggin don is right about the one with 1919 and 24--i have seen these type things on the alabama power co.poles many times and i have wondered if they were used primarily for location purposes.now-adays i do'nt see them on the new poles,suggesting maybe they have better was to i.d. and locate. hope this helps. ellis in al.
 
i work for the power company here in corinth, ms and we used date nails solid copper or brass nails and these are similar with a nail drove in the hole now days it is burned into pole good find !
