my mother just came back from a vacation and bought these 2 coins at a flea market for me, they look like silver, are about the same size as a Peace dollar, any clue as to what they are and if they are silver? they have the silver sound when you drop them on the table.

The below info is for the picture on the left:
The symbols read from right to left. The first two symbols mean the word Mandarin.

The second two symbols on both coins:
Left coin: Ja Ching
Right coin: Guang Shu

The last two left most symbols mean: Emperor

Left Coin: Emperor Ja Ching Mandarin
Right Coin: Emperor Guang Shu Mandarin

The below info is for the picture on the right:

They both say the same thing:
It says Mandarian on the top of the coin.

It says the following on the bottom of the coin.
Emperor(two left symbols) Big(center symbol) 12(two right symbols)

Read as 12 Big Emperor

So it looks like your mom got you 2 coins from a 12 coin Big Mandarin Emperor set!!
As for their silver content, run a detector over them and see where they read. Probably silver though.
