I recently dug an iron object in a Confederate Picket post. This piece looks remarkably like part of a naval cutlass sword hilt or some type of sword only its made of iron. It measures 3 3/8" across and approximately 4 1/4" from top to bottom. I've attached pics as it was dug and after electrolysis. I would appreciate any input at all. HH, Barney.
