Same button from the back. It says Best & Co. New York. This button was down about 8 inches deep.

I suspected it was WWI or WWII era. When I saw it in the hole, it was on its side and all I could make out was the gold braided edge. My heart was really thumping at that point... thought I had a CW button. Still... a cool find. Thanks for helping.
