Help I.D small Bottle the bottle is exactly 1.5 inches long should have used something for scale. it is tiny and the only marking is a - (that mark) o

Hi Ronnie, How you doing? I have a couple of bottles that look pretty much the same as yours. I have been told that they are old medicine bottles. I think this sort date from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. When I found mine, I thought they might be perfume bottles ... but thinking about it, the opening is way too big for pouring perfume! I recon it must be an old medicine bottle then <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> HH charlie

thanks Charlie. I guess you will get this in the morning, its way later there than here. I use to live on that side of the pond. Merseyside and I miss it. Then moved to Scotland Rysythe? does that sound right?

Hi Ronnie,
Your bottle is most likely medicinal (agree with Charlie) but definitely post 1900 due to the mould markings (seams) which extend right to the top of the bottle. Guess 30's or 40's.

It's probably an early dope bottle. It used to be legal and sold over the counter. Only 30 years ago you could still buy codeine off the shelf. Coca Cola originally had cocaine in it hence the name Coca Cola as cocaine comes from the the leaves of the coca plant.
