Help cleaning the inside of the control panel lens...

Has anyone done this themselves? The lens has dirt on the inside! How can I clean it?

She said she spoke to a tech and he did not recommend messing with it, but for $40 they would do it, so of course I got out my Phillips Head and in about 7 minutes it is as good as new, and it did not cost a thing!

Good thinking bud. Forty bucks is quite a bit to clean a piece of plastic. Detectors ain't all that complicated. I've changed circuit boards in them. Really isn't much to them when you get them apart. Makes you wonder why they cost so much.

Come on now, it is greed only when SOMEONE ELSE is making a profit. If people like Mr. Garrett wasn't making a profit, we would not have the terrific hobby that we enjoy.
