Help!! Cibola mod seems wrong!!

So I finished the GB and switch for all metal/disc today.
Had a hiccup with the sensitivity knob causing a constant beep, but got that figured out.

Runs fine, sounds off great in disc. And I set my disc level at nickel to calibrate. All good.

But then came me ground balancing it...
So if all the way counterclockwise on the Bournes 10 turn is all the way negative, then I'm at 9 turns positive from that. Or if 5 turns is zero and even, I'm at positive 4!!!
My Bandido II is GB neutral at 2 turns positive from all the way left (pretty much even give or take a quarter turn)

So why the heck do I have to go 4 turns out of the 5 in the positive?!?

I'm sad and almost wish I had just left it alone.

Please guys any help or understanding about this would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks

Does it ground balance or not? I wasn't sure from your post.

Yes it does. Just alot further from the middle of the spectrum than expected. It's press positive on the dial. What I mean is 5 turns from far ccw is middle. I'm more like 8.5 turns from far ccw to get balanced. Just weird because my Bandido is right in the middle of the 3 3/4 dial.
But it works and I'm happy with it!!

I'm far from an expert on this but there is a difference between a linear, and an exponential (Logarithmic) potentiometer. I wonder which you ended up with.
If its logarithmic, I think the change my be slower over the first bit of turning then increase at an increasing rate toward the end of the range.
- So that is a possibility of what you have.
- Next, if its ground balancing, I don't know if I would worry too much.
- I wonder if the Bandido II and the Cibola may just may be different enough animals that what you are seeing in correct.
- Finally, if I am correct, and that is a pretty big if, you may have been just as well off with the 3 3/4 turn that Tesoro uses now.

Again, that is if I understand and this is all things I have run into while working on my 3D modifications. I'm self taught and have really large areas that I struggle with.

Thanks bleaver!!

I was just thinking that you may have wanted to just add a simpler pot of like 3 turn or 5 turn instead of 10 turn. 2 different beasts entirely.
