Help Chosing Probe for XLT

TreasureCoaster

New member
Hi everyone, I'm new to metal detecting. I recently got a barely used XLT (rainbow style). I mainly detect on the salty beach. If I stay interested in this hobby i would like to invest in getting the " whites surf master dual field detector" but for now I'm gonna stick with this one. Although the pin pointing on the detector is great, and the VCO option is awesome. I really see the usefulness in a probe, especially @ the beach. Cause when U dig a hole in the super fine sandy beaches down here and need to get into the side wall of your hole, u really wanna know exactly which side to scoop cause u wont have a hole for long :surrender:

Can any1 tell me if the Sunray XL-1 is worth the money $169+ or should i get a hand held probe like " Bulls Eye"?

Also any recommendations on where to purchase a probe.

Four of my detectors have Sunray probes on them. With plans to buy two more. Yes, I believe they are worth it. And if you can get a probe for $169.00 you better jump on it. Their prices just went up. I paid $189.95 for one this week.
