Looking for an opinion on the Treasure Ears headphones how do they compare to any other .do they sound tinny ,hollow ,muffled.or are they clear and have a good tone .are they full range or are they range limited, are they rugged .are they better than the $15.00 - $45.00 offerings of other brands [example .Calrad,Whites,Garrett.Etc...]
Michael

Hi Michael,

I have never used Treasure Ears. They have a little better specs than Calrad, Whites, and Garrett.
But that's saying much.

Why don't you try good sound?

If you just spend $35 more, you can get real quality. Killer B's and Gray Ghost have much better
specs than Treasure Ears, and they have a life time warranty. When your Treasure Ears go out,
that's $50 more . That's $100 for a crummy set of headphones. Where's the wisdom in that. I've
been there. I spent $100 on cheepheadphones more than once. But I'll never do it again.

I tore up my Killer B's. My falt. I abused them.

Killer B's did not care. They had them back in my hands in six days. No charge.

Now, that's not just quality hearing, but quality service too. How can you beat that?

You waste money going with the cheep stuff. I know I been there. It ain't worth a bucket of warm
spit as far as I'm concerned. Just a waste of money.

Well then .What to get .How about the Sun Ray Pro Golds .Any comment on those.

I have not used Sun Ray Pro Golds.

I believe they make excellent headphones.

If you look close at specifications and materials,

there is a big difference between quality headphones like

Sun Ray Pro Golds and those other cheep headphones like

Treasure Ears. The cable that goes from cup to cup is cheep.

The cups are cheep. The cord is the wrong length and lower quality.

The head cushion is cheaper. The plug is wrong. The Volume pots are cheep.

I could go on, but I don't have the time.

Yes Sun Ray Pro Gold is a good set.

Some people get offended when I talk about headphones. That's OK.

Cheep headphones don't work well.

One thing we did not discuss.

Some metal detectors have an audio response without much expression.

If you have an MD like that, use ear buds for 50 cents and you'll be happy.

In that case they could use lights and offer them to the hearing impaired.

But I am not hearing impaired and I can not afford to waste my money on

costly cheep headphones. I like better finds. Don't want to give that up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you check the specs and materials you will find that Sun Ray Pro Gold

headphones have a few things that may be better than Killer B's and Gray

Ghost Basic models. But Killer B's Wasp are on the level of Pro Gold.

You have to pay more.

When you were talking about cheep headphones I thought you were trying

to save money. There are more better, if you want to spend the money.

But for me $85 is a lot of money. That's what Killer B's and Gray Ghost

Basic sets cost. I have both. I bought my Killer B's when they cost $72.

As far as I know, that is the cheapest quality headphones that you can

buy new. There are other headphones I don't know about, but sence I have

two quality sets with life time warranty, I am set for headphones for a long

time. I don't have to worry what they cost. Mine just cost shipping from

now on. Good luck with your search.

All points very valid.but still some of the cheaper ones .mainly the whites are good for those people that for what ever reason don't want to afford the $100.00+ price tag .But not in my case .I have looked at all and have just purchased a set of Sun Ray Pro Golds based on price ,features and the very high quality transducers that they use :starwars: .The Rat phones came in second .they use the same transducers but to get the full features you need to spend $30.00 more and they don't have the covered switches. Thanx for all the comments and advice.all points well taken.
Happy Hunting:detecting:

I have had my Sun Ray Pro Golds now for 8 months. I really like them. Very good phones and get great sound outta them. I would buy again in an instant, Beale.
