:help:ACE 250 Question

BIG DEE

New member
I've just got an ACE250 and I was wondering, what is the best coil to use for hunting coins and jewelry? Any help would be great

The stock coil does an excellent job. If you want to expand your opportunities with this detector, the small sniper coil can get very close to metal play equipment and chain link fences where larger coils can't. The Large coil will give you extra depth and cover a larger area, so you can grid a soccer field for instance in less time. Personally, I haven't used my stock coil for years. I just flip back and forth between the large and small coil, or take the ACE along with the sniper coil on my hunts using the GTI 2500.

I bought an ace 250 about 2wks ago and have done fairly well with the stock coil. In a high trashy area I have heard that the sniper is the best, but Im going to wait until I learn a lot more about my detector.

Each coil has it's uses. The large coil is good for wide open spaces, beach, large lawn areas. The sniper (hockey puck) is good in high trash areas.
