Hello, My first post to this forum. Ordered a BH 505 and got my first target out front by the bus stop. It was pretty fun. I netted $0.34, some nails, foil, nail clipper, brass stuff, plus more in a hour. This was my first ever experience with a metal detector. It went pretty well because of you guys and the web in general. I've been lurking for a few weeks and look forward to getting deeper and disc'ing out some of this trash. I have the disc knob off (ccw) until I get some experience. It's pretty trashy out there, turned the sens down to 11 o'clock so it would stop freaking out and confusing me. I'll be at the park later digging. Anyway just wanted to say hello to the BH group.

Jim... I'm new to this site also and these folks here are always ready and willing to help us fledgling hunters. Like you, I still get junk when i hunt, but going out with the tips from people here, I have GREATLY reduced my diggin' and in turn have also had more/better finds than before. Heck... they even interject some humor here and there.

A Great first hunt, and you seem to already understand the uses of your SENS and DISC controls...WTG!!
Welcome to the both of you and as always....

Happy Hunting,

Welcome. You are in for many hours of enjoyment with this hobby. Like most others the more you put into it the more you are going to enjoy it. The more time you spend the beter the finds will get for you. Keep swinging and the goodies will keep coming. Good first hunt!:detecting:

You're correct, I went out a second time and started finding quarters along with all those pennies at a school under the plastic play area.

Got a question? Ask GoGoGopher. He gave me help and advise. You can tell he's a good guy, cause he wears a white hat.

(I really don't know what color hat he wears)
