Hello to all! I'm new to this forum and I'm eager to get out and do some detecting. I decided to buy a MXT Pro over the AT Pro. I'm a rookie to this w

Welcome to the forum and I have to agree with Del on your choice if you are not going to do any water hunting. The MXT Pro has proven itself as a serious detector not only for coins and relics, but a decent nugget hunter as well.

Obviously that depends on what and where you intend on using it. I personally think the MXT is a great machine in most situations.... lot of sensitivity to small targets, easy to learn, and good depth. Just remember unlike the AT its not water proof.

Good choice. Use the MXT forum it will help you level those rough spots that come up when out there detecting. Hope you enjoy detecting. Welcome to mding. ..... Happy Trails....Z

I use both and do well with them in whatever location I hunt in
be it water or land.
AT PRO / MXT
MXT=== Relic mode-trigger forward-no disc-gain at 9- two tones Land VDI :thumbup:
AT PRO= Pro mode- all metal-iron disc set at 30-iron audio off -sens factory Land and water VDI :thumbup:

1) You made a good choice and can't go wrong.

2) Next message use a short subject title and put the remainder of your message in the "Message" section.

3) Happy Hunting!!! :detecting:

Alittle late to ask now...lol. Both are good machines...to know what would have been the best choice would have to know what types of hunting you want to do. Away from the water and beaches the MXT probably is you best choice. Now here in freshwater country I stomp my buddy with my AT Pro on the beach and then proceed to work out in the water. He has a MXT Pro. Dirt hunting though I turn to my V3i which is like your MXT Pro on steroids. MXT is tried and proven.....the AT Pro is still working out new model issues. Machine workmanship and customer service have to go to White's....I speak from experience.

Thanks to all that has responded to my post. I didn't realize that there are separate forums for different subjects. Thanks for the advice and I know now how to post on this site.

I think you made the right choice. Had an MXT a while back, great detector!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you would have been happy with either one. Hope you find lots of goodies with your MXT.
