Hello All! Well, I came back to Philly where im originally from last July and decided to stay. Dads retired, my brother is married and living 3 hours away in New York, and we have my 93 year old great uncle to care for. Ive been doing some detecting and some privy / bottle digging. Ive been hitting an old haunt of mine for Native American relics as well. So far, this year, my totals for finds are 1 silver dime (too worn to tell type), 1 silver washington, 8 wheats, 2 indian pennies, almost 12 bucks in clad, some buttons, toy cars, 7 keys, a 5 gallon bucket full of scrap (from January til now), a compact, a pocket watch, 2 pendants, a pocket knife, 1 piece of flatware, and LOTS of misc items. Best coin so far this year... A 1772 Silver Spanish 1/2 Real with Madrid mintmark. Best bottle so far is a Civil War USA Hospital Dept bottle worth about 200 bucks (low end price). Ive managed to get my younger brother out of the bottle digging only rut and into detecting as well. Just today he got a barber dime and a silver rosie. He's hooked and finding out that when there are no privy pits to dig, he can still play in the dirt! When I get a chance, I will post some more pics of this years finds so far. Two of the buttons i dug can be dated by the back marks to the 1830's / 40's. Ive got lots of sites and permissions lined up for nice weather already, one of which includes a place where a modern warehouse is to be demolished. Under its concrete slab floor are going to be atleast 8, yes 8, COLONIAL outhouse privies to be dug according to my maps. I hope everyone is doing well and I will post things here when I find em. Hopefully when I come back to Peoria at some point this year to handle a few loose ends, some of us can get together for a hunt. Till then...... coils to the ground!

Regards,

"Digger" Drew Waholek
