Hello..Newbie with AT Pro and a ?

Wvhunter

New member
Hello all.... newbie here from Charleston WV.. After much research I decided and bought a AT PRO.. have only had it out once for about a Hr ( cold and nasty here) and found a Bolt,,bottle cap..and 3 pennies !!!.. Still learning but I can see how it can get addictive.. My question is if I am mostly hunting parks and playgrounds would I benefit from the sniper coil? I have read they are good for playgrounds and stuff but would like more info about what they do different and better or worse than the DD coil... Any info would be great,
Thanks in advance

The AT pro should do ok without a smaller coil. It will pick up coins within trashy areas. Using the pro mode set your iron discrimination up to about 10 and play with that setting until you get the results your looking for.

P.S. I live in Hurricane,.... we should get together and hunt this spring.

you live close then,, would love to hunt with ya..I have been trying to do some research and find some good spots near charleston

I would refer to the videos on Youtube. The engineer who designed the AT Pro talks about this subject.

Try this site, it will give you plenty of places to hunt

Yes...the sniper coil is a good coil, in certain locations such as along metal play equipment in playgrounds, along chain link fences, along sidewalks where there is re-bar and in the woods, in hard to get into bushy areas. I have an ACE detector which always has the sniper coil attached to it. I usually plan my hunts, and often times I bring along both detectors, which basically covers all my needs. No time wasted changing coils either.
