New Infinium LS owner want's to say, hello!

I am very anxious waiting for the delivery of my Garret Infinium LS,
my tracking number says;

Ventura, CA, United States 03/31/2011 7:03 A.M. Out For Delivery
03/31/2011 6:24 A.M. Arrival Scan

today and tomorrow after work I will do some target testing and practice,
and then will go metal detecting on the surf on Saturday during low tide,

wish me good luck.

Yomero

I took it to the beach yesterday and was very stable even with upcoming waves,
first I did the frequency check for any interference, discrimination to 0,
ground balance in the wet sand and the locked,
no falsing at all, only when I touched the wet sand but I thing that is normal,
I don't think the stock coil goes deep, I am going to order the 10 x 14 mono, I am checking prices
the infinium is heavy, tomorrow I will remove the coil cover that makes the infinium look like a weird shovel and try hip mounted,

here are the finds, the earring was a repetitive hi-low-hi-low I think is silver plated

Do not hip mount. You will end up with a short in your coil cord.Happens to everone it seems.
Yeah I think the mono coils are much better and want to order both of them in the future.

thanks, I guess I have to make some muscle, I will buy 10 x 14 mono when possible.

A straight shaft would not be a bad investment either. It really with the balance of the detector.

didn't find the weight unbalanced, just a little too heavy.

Aside from being heavy, the 10 x 14 DD will detect as deep as the big mono on ring and coin size items. The mono is better on the very small stuff and rings to 1 or 2 gms, after that it is six of one and half a dozen of the other.

So far I have been twice in the surf with the infinium no
gold ring yet, just a couple of coins, the nickle was deep 7" deep.
and a bunch of pieces of aluminum cans and beer caps.
Saturday I will go to test the 14 inch mono.
