Like it's big brother to hunt meteorites? If so what settings should be used. Thank you HH c t

You will be looking for iron so you will not want a correlate program. Therefore use,

The following factory programs which default to Best Data Mode:
Coin
Coin & Jewelry
Deep Silver
Hi Pro

I don't use a VX3 but you would want to
Accept -95 to 0 and reject 1 to +95
I'd use one tone
Adjust gain and filter to ground.

As Rob said, you can duplicate the V3i program by modifying the Hi-Pro program. I would not accept anything lower than -75, you risk accepting the ground as a target and you don't want that. I would also stick with single frequency 22.5 since you hunting primarily for iron.

Here is most of the important info from the V3i manual.

I'll go with Larry. Just remember The V3i can assign correlate or best data to any program. The VX3 cannot.

The following factory programs default to Best Data Mode:

Coin
Coin & Jewelry
Deep Silver
Hi Pro
Demo

The following factory programs default to Correlate Mode:

Salt Beach
Relic
Prospect

If you would like a meteorite program , just load up Hi Pro"(best data program) and edit the settings so that it reflects those used in the meteorite program. You can restore the modified program to factory settings at any time.

Great info guys! I have never even considered meteorite hunting...very cool..
