live in north ga , been out of hunting for a while , got the bug again ,have been using a 1265 , thought it was time to upgrade heard a lot of good things about the xtera 70 , have not used it yet , hunt mostly relics, what kind of reading can i expect on minnie ball, and buttons, and do shot gun shells also give a similar reading, thanks looking forward to swinging the seventy...

Hello and welcome....I just got my X-70 and due to the weather I have only got to use it a couple of time. On each trip I recovered two-two ringer bullets. I got a very solid 32 at 6 to 8". I also recovered a brass button at about 11" and had a very solid 36 and it had that brass sound (a bit sharper) than the lead. TomB

Welcome, you will like the 70 and this site. Lead will fall about 20 - 25 on the VDI scale. Buttons can range from 10 - 20 for pewter all the way to the mid-30's for brass. Shotgun casings will range from 25 - 30 usually. I dig anything over 0 in a field, which means pratically everything. Good luck and look forward to your posts. Ron

seeing pics of some of those finds you are bound to make. HH Randy

using the stock coil , went hunting today for a couple of hours in crow valley, thats just north of dalton, found 1 drop three ringer, 2 fired enfields, three fired 3 ringers, 1 case shot, 1 bucking ball ,1 canon ball frag, 1 parrot shell frag, very pleased with the machine, was hunting in all metal with the 4 tones, very accurate on the iron, and the bullets.
