For all you new folks to the Ace 250.Pinpointing with the 250 is a little different than most other detectors. If you go back in the archives to July 29, there are several experienced people explaining how to pinpoint with the Ace 250. HH

You will find the pinpointing instructions on page 36 in the archives. Look at the bottom of this page and click on page 36.HH

Welcome to a great hobby and great forum. This forum has a lot of good tips and info on it. I also have an Ace 250 and love it. The little yellow fellow is a great detector. It loves coins, Especially pennies. My advice is to practice with the factory settings until you learn what your detector is telling you. Than you can experiment with notching certain junk out. Digging every signal is the best way to learn what the different sounds and readings mean. You'll dig a bunch of junk, but theres a lesson learned with every item you dig. Sometimes when it seems to be junk, it turns out good. Hope you enjoy this hobby and hope you find many good targets. Keep us posted with your finds.

Welcome aboard. You've got the best machine there is to start out with or finish up with. Just take your time and practice a lot and before you know it good finds will be coming your way. And if you have a problem you know where to come.

Welcome, Jack. As time goes by you're gonna just love that Ace 250. I've had one since February, using the stock coil and 4.5" Sniper coil for coin hunting in those trash infested areas. Now I'm considering the 12" coil and a Sunray Probe to top it off.

Last summer I "upgraded:confused:" to another detector costing 4 times as much; Guess What? It's the "back up detector" to the Ace 250
