Hello guys, prompted by Uncle Willy

Hi everyone,
I've been lurking for a couple of months now.
So here I am finally with no small thanks to Uncle Willy.

We're newbies at tectin' that is my wife and I, we've both got GA 250'S and really enjoying it.
First hobby we've shared in 37 years (feels like 73) and we've got a lot of friendly rivalry goin' on, keeps us on our toes.

With friendly greetings from Bonnie Scotland,
(land of the haggis)
Ian & Eileen

I hope the both of you continue to have some good competitiveness! That usually results in better finds. And I bet your wife whoops you several times too!

And welcome to the Garrett forum. Looking forward to seeing some of your finds....bad or good. :)

Well hallo there in Scotland, home of my ancestors! Its a pleasure Ian and Eileen to have you aboard. Im sending you my Ace Compendium - if you cant learn how to use your detectors well from it, then you are dead!

Pleas edo share some of your great finds, too. Lori wants to go to Scotland next year and your finds might convince her to let me take a detector.

I'm also a "newbie" and have just received my 250 today! What an excitement. Met some very friendly people so far and it's a breath of fresh air! They've made me feel very welcome. And HELLO from :canadaflag:

Thanks for the warm welcome, you sure are a friendly bunch.
I'm looking forward to sharing many communications
and pics with you all.
I've not quite got the hang of getting my signature up yet but will eventually.

With friendly greetings,
Ian & Eileen

Welcome aboard gang. We'll be looking forward to hearing from you and looking at some pics of great finds. You'll find lots of help here from a bunch of friendly folks.

Bill

Hi John,
I know that was a joke, but at this end it's not quite so funny!
Unfortunately Eileen is whooping me most of the time, at the moment anyway.
Don't be surprised if you hear about a duel at dawn with tectors.

Ian & Eileen

Gotta love anyone the can bring haggis into a forum ! You also gotta love sheep guts as they say.

Farnum

Oh, yes. Please bring some haggis!
Hey Spanky,
I'm learnin' U.S.A. speak as well.
The yeller-feller.
Whadaya think of that then?
Take that little yeller feller and get-er-done. Now that's gool 'ol US of A speak.

Welcome to both of you.
Don't make it more complicated than you need. Turn it on, dig repeatable beeps. Post your first findings- good, bad or ugly.

Hi Kenny,
Nice to hear from you, you'll be in the same time zone as us. We're in East Fife m8.
Where are you from yourself?

Did you notice I did a Canadian Leslie, land of etc.
(only using haggis, my wee joke)
We've only been at the tectin' for about 10-12 weeks now
and we always work together, so we're buddies as well.
Is it an Ace you have too?

With friendly greetings from the land of the Haggis,
Ian & Eileen

Hi Ian & Eileen, moved to Hawick in the Borders about six years ago from Glasgow with my wife and kids, John 21 and Emma 16. Been metal detecting for about a year now with my Garrett Gtax 1000 and love it, will be posting my finds shortly. The 250 is a great detector and wish you and Eileen good hunting.
P.S. Saw a wee Haggis and shot the bugger
cheers Kenny
