:HAS ANYONE DONE ANY GOOD WITH THE 12"COIL ON THE MXT PRO?NEED SOME FEED BACK PLEASE.I AM IN THE PROCESS OF BUYING ONE.THANK YOU -----BILL. MY,MY WHAT A HANDSOME BIRD.

Its has been a very good coil for me with the MXT Pro. I use it primarily for hunting in open farm fields / pastures when looking for CW relics. Provides Great depth and coverage. !!!! Used it last summer at the beach and was finding quarters down to 12" in the sand. Not my coil of choice if there's much trash around. It is kinda heavy for me when compared to other coils. JMHO.

I agree with CCH on this one...I use mine in open areas, but there is so much trash in the parks around here I have to use my 5.3 most of the time. I sure like the coverage area of the 12" coil...sure speeds up the search in areas with little trash. It is a bit heavier than some of the other coils, but if you put your lower rod on the last notch, it makes the weight a bit more manageable. HH :usaf:

I have the 12 inch coil on my mxt and it is good in open areas but I'm looking to get a eclipse 5.3 coil for the trashy areas, thanks for the tip usafaviator on the rod extention, I just adjusted my and it feels better already, swinging the 12 inch for 4 or 5 hour with the rod extended like I had it is work. Thanks Phinwa

bet he "eats" good too!..times are tough!
just sayin!

Most dealers will work with you on coil selection and I would recommend the 950 if you are in mild ground or the D2 if in mineralized ground. Nix the 8X14, it is very heavy and you have nothing to gain over the 950 or D2 coils except coverage. The depth on an elliptical coil is usually compared to a round coil of the size of the smaller side..... an 8 inch coil.
