Hello guys,another question concerning coils.

Which coil do you prefer on the beach won't be going in the water I don't believe in testing fate. Don't want a great white testing to see if i am a seal. But these are my coils. 10x14 DD, 5X10 DD , 10x14 mono, and 8 inch mono. Which coil should I use and which coils should I take out with me ?

Thanks

I use the big mono on the sand and the 8 inch in the water and the 5 x 10 is great in the shallows and on the sand whenever the elec interference is high or whenever you just want to use something lightweight. It won't go as deep as the mono's but it is an easy coil to swing and runs quiet.

To maximize coverage and depth on an open beach with little rubbish.......10x14"Mono.
If in black sand and with plenty of junk targets 5X10"DD
In water I prefer the 8"Mono.....make it easier to pinpoint and get the target first or second dig, big mono in water is less accurate to pinpoint with, I can use one but if you miss the target and need to dig repeatedly it can be mistaken for a "deep" "deep" target.

If it's your first time on the beach with an Infinium LS, I would suggest the 5x10"DD or the 8"Mono to start with.
Keep the Audio Threshold at just threshold so the whispers of a small or deep target can be heard.

A big mistake while using an Infinium LS is to move the coil to fast the result Will Be loss of good targets in the low conductivity range !

The big Mono is tough to pinpoint on Land as well sometimes , I had an old oil can sound off about the length of a rifle / long-gun. Agree the slow swing is the way to go Indeed on Inf.Ls. Ken

Thanks guys,I got all the new parts in and it is up and running great. I have the 8 inch mono on and my friend is taking me out friday to one of the good gold fields here in Arizona and look for some nuggets. Then sunday we will be off to the beach for a week.
