hello everyone,
My name is Boone, i currently reside in arkansas.. i have prospected in colorado for gold and since
moving here to arkansas my prospecting days have gone till i move back. i have always
wanted a metal detector, so while i was in a pawnshop yesterday i found a green bag hung on
a hook at this pawn shop, the tag said minelab relic hawk . so i took it off its hook and opened it up
it looked to have all the pieces, so i asked the clerk what was wrong with it.. he said it needed to have
the battery box cleaned, i thought to myself WHAT.. so i graciously figured in my head that this guy had
no idea what he was talking about... he said they had sold it for 500 dollars but they guy brought it back
because the battery needed to be cleaned out. so i payed my money for it and home i went, i got a new battery for
it today and hooked it up and wouldnt you know it works.. or so it beeps and makes staticy noises, so i think
it works... im still tryin to figure it out and hope it really does work.. myself bein unfamillar with detectors i look
foward to everyones expertice and comrodoary we all shars thanks for having me on your forum. you probably
wont belive how much i payed for this thing either...

Boone...welcome aboard. The Minelab name is very hard to beat. I'm sure someone here (Randy or Bill) will have information on your purchase. Good luck and HH. TomB

We have a lot of experienced people here who have a good working knowledge of most detectors that are on the market or have been.

Do a little research and I think you will find that there is places to prospect for Gold in Arkansas also.

Some info on the older machine the Minelab Relic Hawk, almost exactly the same performance as my very great performing and very deep Minelab Musketeer Advantage that is selling for $698 new at Kellyco BUT heavier and bulkier. It should go very deep and work very well and is a good machine...you should not have bought it for $500 which is too much, more like $300 at the most. Hope this helps.

(I guess they won't let me post the minelabowners dot com/forum above for some reason I do not know? It is not an advertisement.)

"I would like to own an additional detector that will do all the things and more that my Explorer does -LOL What i mean is i want something that i can use to look for very deep targets ie 3-4 feet deep !! This would be a great tool to use when you have good reason to believe that there may be a hoard on your site, due to type of finds you have already found. I thought the Relik Hawk would make a good all rounder and double up as a resally deep search tool by all accounts. Looking at the American sites i noticed a vast price difference to the UK market...$799 against
