Hello Folks

My name is Crawford and I am from Garland Texas, my home is within walking distance of the Garrett Factory.
I have been coin hunting on and off since 1984 when I got a tesoro silver sabre as a present.

However I recently bought a 1991 model Garrett GTA1000 Ultra, and man this rig is great. I now know
what I am digging and how deep it is. I am becoming a devoted coin shooter

I have added a picture of what I found today at a local Garland Soccer park.

$1.01 in clad - However I am getting better each time and probe out most coins.

Thats all for today - Yall have a good one and I will keep you posted.

OK......one question. How can you not use a Garrett detector living in Garland

Anyhow, glad you are enjoying the GTA 1000. It is a great machine. Some of the guys still use it today and really get the goods. You are the first person (although I bet there is more) detecting from Garland that I know of. That is really unique..... Have you been to the Garrett Museum? It is supposed to be fantastic!

And, keep trying to post that pic. We all had to learn those things too. Once you do it a couple of times, it will be easy. Any questions about detecting, just ask. But then again, you living in Garland, we should be asking you.......Again....... "WELCOME"

Thanks for the welcome. I had to fiddle with this camera and software to get the picture the right size.
Its still kinda blurry but I am gonna work on getting clearer pictures.

I have been to Garrett Museum quite a few times. There are some very unique items there. I took my detector
over there and they spent about an hour with my going over it and showing me the proper use. Funny thing was
the lady helping me had worked there since 1995 and she was having fun with this earlier model, she also said
she had never seen the style of headphones I have(they are Garrett also) maybe from 1991 also.

Have a great day
