Hello everyone...

Hope spring is treating everyone well and hope your ground is thawing (not quick enough up here :)) I have been busy working toward the Master of Science for Teachers degree and living life on life's terms. I have met some good friends up north and have been learning a lot about the outdoors from all the trappers, hunters and fishermen up north in Plattsburgh. Life is good and getting better eac day. The other day a buddy and I were talking about fishing, hunting, trapping, metal detecting and life in general, my friend wanted to show me a good fishing hole so we walked down to the shores of the Saranac. (on the map we were just across the river from Fort Brown(haven't hunted it yet as it appears to be off limits)
He showed me the fishing spot and we talked about fishing and trapping and started to search for driftwood, cool rocks and feathers for tying flies. He asked me some more about detecting and wanted to know if I ever checked the banks of the river. I told him I had but there was so much iron junk that it was difficult and too much like work. It gave me an idea though and I started moving rocks and looking closely for treasure. I found these goodies and plan to go back with the fly rod and find some more. Have a great week and happy hunting.

I also found a new spot in Saratoga. There is an old home nearby and found some old iron. Also spied an old faint road nearby and ran the detector on the sides of it. Got 2 nice small signals right next to each other. I turned the disc. up to 9.5 on the X5 and they still rang sweet. Too bad the ground was a block of ice in that area :) I'll be back one of these days soon. Glad you liked the pics.
