Hope all of you that have the weather permitting has gotten out and detected.....Doesn't matter if you had Great finds, or simple coin finds. As long as you had fun.
Snow is melting fast here, and, in about two weeks plan on hitting some old farm sites...have done a lot of reading on detecting, looked over new models, and decided what I have is most likely the best for me.No since changing if there's nothing better to change too. Read a lot about the Fishers, seems like a lot of people disappointed in some of them, Garrett has nothing new, Minelab has nothing new, and Whites just added bigger coils so far...New names and new paint. Now i am not being negative here...just stating what I see and have read. So don't jump on me here..take it as banter from a fellow detectorist..just wondering where our hobby and products are going........Seems like Minelab would try and remake the Explorer series same depth and workings just in a smaller case and lighter weight..Now wouldn't that be something....Whites could bring back their all time favorite 6000 series with 6'" and 12" coils..6000xl3000/6 series and sell a bundle of them.
Garretts might want to consider a make over on a few of their bigger units and utilize the target size thing they do so well...... They should make some progress in the whole industry, all the manufacturers.
So lets hope for the best..use what we have, or maybe buy something new ,and make 08 a banner year for finds..Happy Hunting all..see you in the field
