But not new to tesoro's. I have a vaquero and a cibola. So what is all this talk about a new tesoro coming out this year? Or am I about to walk into a crapstorm? Looking at the new outlaw.....seems not to shabby with learning curve like I had to learn with the vaq. Thinking about getting a silver umax or a golden umax or outlaw as mentioned above. Which one would be good for northwestern louisiana soil conditions?

Welcome......

You will find some interesting reading here, and one of the most friendliest and informational forum on Tesoros. I have a small collection of vintage Tesoros and my wife has a new Deleon.

I started using the new Outlaw late last year and I am quite impressed with it, the weather just needs to cooperate and I will be hitting the sidewalk strips with it. HH

Welcome aboard ! I own a Vaquero myself it works well in my California mineralized soil . I don't know what your soil conditions are
but It would probably be best to get the Outlaw because you can ground balance it . I'm not even going to get into the subject of the Cazador . When it gets released it gets released .

the vaquero is hard to beet if it was me i would wate to see what the new Cazador is like

flacoma I did a bit of research on your soil and this is what i got ( The soils on this Tertiary bedrock has been developed on the oldest known parent material in the hole state and it ranges in age form two to about sixty-five million years, the reddish-yellow coloration is due to the highly soil been highly weathered and oxidized. In this area, it is known to have predominantly short leaf pines and hardwood forested slops and hill ) the highly oxidized part makes me think you need a vaquero, or outlaw as this mineralization will affect your depth, sometimes the Iron can build up in certain parts of the soil and get very concentrated looks like its going to be really acidic as well not good on relics I will dig mor for some info. the VAQ would be deeper and if you are in pine needle you will need that extra depth but if in a modern ball field or park i would go with the outlaw

Hear is a link to a soil survey in your earea and it looks like you have some very clay like hard to dig thru soil , but hear is a link of a soil survey done in 1916 it has a lot of history & info that my be very helpful to you , (http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_MANUSCRIPTS/louisiana/websterLA1916/websterLA1916.pdf
