Head up 101 North to a little town called Santa Maria. Head West out of town to a very little town of Casmilia. There is a restaurant there called the Hitching Post. There you will find the BEST Filet Mignon IN THE WORLD BAR NONE!!! Quite frankly I have never had a bad meal at the Hitching Post!

One of the Air Force Tracking Stations is just up the road from there and I have to go to Vandenberg AFB on a semi-regular basis for my job. We always stay in Santa Maria whenever we go out there. Another GREAT place for pork chops is a place called Jakes. It is just north of Santa Maria.

Dang I'm getting hungry just thinking about it........

Here is the link to the website. Check it out if you get the chance!!!

Filet is not cheap by any means but believe me James this meal is well worth the price. And besides, what's a "per diem" for if you are not gonna use it?

Full Dinners include:
Fresh Vegetable Tray, Crackers & Butter
Bay Shrimp Cocktail or Fruit Cocktail
Mixed Green Salad
Baked Potato or Homemade French Fries*
Garlic Bread
Coffee or Tea
Ice Cream or Sherbet

And sitting by the cooking pit is fun too!!!
