You started with a good machine.Good luck in all your hunting.

Welcome to the X-70 and the site MetalMan! Make sure to check out the FaqFaq at the top of the page. Some very good info there.

You got a very nice machine, learn it and you will do quite well. Looking foward to seeing your posts, Beale.

You got a good machine and in no time, you'll be finding some great things with it. Good luck and don't be afraid to ask anything. Ron

It takes time to become a detectorist rather than someone who just uses a detector...Read the FAQFAQ on top, view the video, and above all the only dumb question is the one that isn't asked..If you have a beach in your area, run it wide open and dig all to give you an idea of the audio and screen responses....digging is easy with a beach scoop thats why I recommend a beach..
All in all X-terra 70 is user friendly, light and cosmetical ergonomic so you shouldn't tire easily. Warning...highly addictive and you only get out of the hobby what you put into it.. Many swing a detector and hope given time you become a detectorist...

Welcome to the forum. Dan is spot on. Follow his advice, learn your machine and keep us posted on all the goodies that you find.:detecting:

You will love your 70 you have made an excellent choice.

Thanks for the advice All, I'm getting through the FAQ section, lots of valuable learning there.

Ive been getting a bit of practice with my machine and getting better at tuning it. Ive cleaned out the back yard of some coins my son & daughter lost out there and found some long lost reticulation.

ive tried it out at some of the local park sand pits and found about $5 dollars and a pocket knife so far and my son is happy with his growing toy car collection (every pit seems to have at least one).

I live not far from gold country and am thinking about getting a suitable coil when the budget permits.
