Hello everybody! scuba_69.....newbie from Italy

Hi everybody,
my name is Daniele and i'm from Italy (Torino is the city I live in)

First of all I would like to apologize for introduce myself directly on this forum, but I've not been able to find the "presentation room".

I'm new of this forum and a newbie about the world of the MD.

I like snorkeling and diving and I have, quite often, the possibility to go to the sea, despite my town is in the hinterland of Italy.
In the last months some friend of mine gave me the possibility to use some MD and now I would like to do my first purchase.

I've read a lot about and I like very much the Garrett Infinium LS: at the moment this would be my first choise.
I know that the Infinium is not an "easy-to-use" instrument and that I will need time to understand how to use it at its best....but I'm quite stubborn ;)

I hope to find in this forum the answers that I need and, after that, proceed with my first order and share with all of you my experiences.

Thanks a lot to everybody!

Ciao! :)

Daniele

ps. obviously I apologize for my poor english....I hope in your clemency ;)

Daniele,
Infinium LS is not my first choice for snorkeling or diving, I would rather use the Sea Hunter MK-II.
However if I were to beach hunt on some your black sand beaches then the Infinium LS with GB would be better.
Torino is where my Iveco is built.

Hi IvanII !

just a few question: why your first choise for diving would be the MK-II and not the Infinium? Wich are the difference between?

Thanks a lot for your answer ! (I do not know too much about MK-II)!

Daniele

ps. really do you have an Iveco? what kind?
pps. do you diving with the Mark-II or you use another MD?

MK-II is made primarily for water and diving.
Infinium made primarily for gold prospecting, in water proof box and so can be used for water and diving.

Hi IvanII !
1) :) A Turbo Daily 4x4 and modified for camper van!....this model is very difficult to see here in Italy! Maybe do you use it for your trip with the MD? ;)

2) About the link you send me: thank you very much! Me too saw them.....and a tons of many others! As you can understand, in these days i'm trying to find every review (written or on video) that I can find.
Do you agree with me when I say that Infinium and Mark-II's videos on youtube are not so many as for the others MD?
I understand that about the Infinium: not lot of people is using it .....but what about the Mark-II? It seems to be very easy-to-use....

3) Ok, now I'am curious: which are the others diving's MD that you are using?
Note: can I bet? Excalibur maybe?

Thanks a lot IvanII and have a good day!

Daniele

Yes, my Iveco was modified specifically with metal detecting in mind.

Most popular shallow water and dive detectors are used on these forums including multi-frequency VLF detectors.

There are some detectors specifically made for diving but they are seldom used by beach/water hunters.
See: JW Fisher..... Aqua Scan.....Secon/Ebinger.

Welcome to the forum Daniele. Did you take the plunge and buy the Infinium? I bought the Infinium instead of the excal or Mark 2 or the others because I also want to hunt gold nuggets and it should handle the mineralization and still go deep. I also have the Sovereign GT and MXT when not in the water. I think if it's not too trashy with iron [a strong magnet will help there] the Infinium should go deep and find smaller targets the others might miss. They say practice makes perfect. Let us know how it's going. Good luck, be safe, and have fun. James
