hello from the Uk I am about to buy my first detector & there is an army surplus store 20 miles away that stocks Bounty Hunters I will be hunting on the beach mostly , so I need to know what model to buy ? the guy who runs the shop has told me over the phone that he has no idea ! they have a choice of discovery 2200, fast trackers, lone stars & traker 4's in stock & I didnt want to end up with a model that wasn't too good on sand etc...I would also be grateful for any other help & tips....
thanks..........Campbell

i would go with a tracker 4 as its easy to opreate and resable cost also';:detecting:twodetecting:
also the coil is water proof this is what i found in a dry wash, nugget.

Some detectors do not do well on salt water beaches. Maybe someone that has experience with Bounty Hunters on salt water beaches will come in and tell you their experience......Jack

The T4 is a good unit in the parks and on the dry beach sand netting me thousands of dollars worth of jewelery and coins. They tend to false in the wet sand and in the surf. However if you turn down the sensitivity, keep your coil height constant, and level throughout your swing the falsing will be dramatically reduced. Having said that I have found gold and silver lewelery and numerous coins in the water, and in the wet sand. The tracker 4 is a great unit for the price, I own 2 of them and they have paid for themselves many times over.:detecting: HH regards Nugget.

hello campbell166, our good friend nugget has found a good bit with his t4, as evidenced by his posts. its a cost effective machine to get into the hobby with, and the learning curve is short and sweet. just take his advice on how to run the machine on the beaches, and youll do well. good luck,

The 2200 is terrible at the beach. I tried all the pointers and nothing stopped the falsing aside from leaving the beach. My 2200 has out hunted some really expensive detectors, but it just couldn't handle wet sand. Here in Oregon that means the entire beach [rains all the time].
Anyway HH,
Doug in OR
