Just joined, and wanted to say Hello from Sunny San Diego, Ca.
got my new 1350 and heading out over the weekend to do some nugget shooting
I'll be heading on the back side of Julian dropping in to the desert hopefully I'll do better than getting a tan.
Either way it should be fun

Hey congratulations and welcome to the forum!!!! I hope you have a fun time detecting!!!:detecting:

Keep us posted on how you do. I too have a 1350 and would like to take it on a "gold" vacation someday, but I am wondering how it will do.

Welcome aboard and you've got a great machine but it isn't designed for nuggetshooting, but you might get lucky. The Garrett Scorpion and GTI 2500 are better suited for nuggetshooting. Keep us posted on your success.

Put in the time to truly learn it well and it will pull out a lot of silver coins at nice depths for you. You can also leave a lot of that nasty junk in the ground too. :)

Good machine, but not for the really small nuggets.

To test it, get a .22 LR bullet and test on it until you get a good signal. Then start cutting it in half to determine the general size nugget you can hope to detect. I wager you wont get much below the first half cut.

Nevertheless, the 1350 is one of the best general purpose detectors out there. Good luck and have fun.

(The Scorpion is a great nugget detector. Another great detector for Gold is the Tesoro Diablo, when you can find one. Ditto the Fisher Gold Bugs. But, lets be honest, the whole field of nuggetshooting is complex - believe me if it was easy, everyone would do it! Here's the one rule you should know, if you don't already - Go where gold has been found. Dont merely wander around in the desert like a lost Hebrew, waving your coil and hoping to get lucky.)

Welcome and good luck Bob. Go for it.

Yes on the reviews the 1350 is a well balance machine, i should be able to do both,
also i like the salt elem mode since we have some great Beach's, can't wait for the day after the holidays, we have over 200,000 at the Beach's
over a 3 day weekend, looking to go to work late on these days
Will i give it a good work out this year and we see how it works out

Happy Hunting
Bob

Yeah I field tested the Diablo years ago and it is the best of the lot hands down. A shame Tesoro doesn't still make it.
