Hello everyone! Im new to this forum. Just picked up an exterra 30 a couple of weeks ago and love it! I was a bit spoiled to start out with cause i was using an etrac. i couldnt pass this machine up for 150 bucks though! Ive been using it on a civil war relic site and have been doing really well. However, when i go to a park, i will get a silver reading and it winds up being trash. why is that? im very new to this particular hobby and am still learning so any pointers from 30 users would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the site . Be sure to check out the faq faq poat at top of page lots of good information on there. If you ever sale that 30 I will give you more than you paid for it. I just started using my 70 on relics and have done well with it.

Welcome Drew,

I have a 70 and dont know much about the 30, so the numbers below may be a bit different...
I think that silver no's are high eg 30's to 40's and rusty iron can be either really high or really low...ge. minus 4 or 44.
As someone once suggested here, I look at the scale like a circle where 48 joins up with minus -8...if that makes any sense to you.
