I have been intrested in water hunting forever, my wife blessed be her name, bought me a Sea hunter 11. I have a White DFX but I've never had a Garrett product. What are the quirks and is there a learning curve, in general what can I expect from this detector? Thanks in advance, can't wait to get wet in Mississippi.

This water machine goes very deep! And, as is typical of all PI's, it will beep on all targets. Set your threshold at just a slight audio, hunt with elimination set at zero in standard trash elimination mode. Bobby pins will give you a double beep. Deep targets give a quieter sound. Shallow ones really hit loud!

Be prepared to have arms like Popeye from digging lots of signals, and the machine loves gold rings. Usually, the further out you hunt in the water, the less junk there is and more good targets.

Go out and have some fun!
