I got ctx3030 for a month now. That's my first detector. What I would like to know is how you guys decide if ground is low, medium or high mineralized??? I dont know if I should use low trash, high trash, ferro-coin or ground coin on my fields....Thanks

Just go out and use factory coins , ground balance and hunt some tot-lots and dig every good 4 way repeatable signal until you get on to it.Watch your numbers and listen to the sounds. You can get fancy when you get the hang of it .

your location might help us,,,, I look at the sensitivity in auto mode,,,,, if it runs low it means more minerals,,,,, high is in neutral ground,,,,,, I may be wrong but this is how have understood it,,,

I use the sensitivity reading to gauge the mineralization as well. The thing I'd like to know is at what sensitivity reading is everyone deciding it's time to try ground balancing? The manual suggests not ground balancing unless the mineralization is high. So?... What's everyone's cut off point as far as the readings go?
