heartbreak button

It's been over a year since I lost my job, sold the house, and put my detectors into storage. Last week the movers finally got here (Missouri) and yesterday I went detecting!! YEEEHAA !! :hot: About a mile from my house a friend owns a huge brick house that was built in 1830. You KNOW there has to be something in this yard. :detecting: This house is still lived in and the yard produced the normal tractor parts and misc metal junk. Found a lot of clad but there is so much other metal I didn't get into any deep silver coins. At one point I dug an item that was about the size of a quarter at 6" and as I pulled it out of the hole I saw the button post. As I wiped some of the mud off the front I saw a perfect eagle. :yikes: WOW !! I'm thinking .. this is a great start to detecting in Missouri. I put it in my pouch and went on detecting. The weather turned to crap so I went home to clean up this button. As I washed the dirt from it the first thing I noticed is that there was no backmarking at all. Then as the front cleaned off and something doesn't look right.... The damn thing is plastic ! The only metal part on it is the loop.. WHY.. OH WHY ???:cry:
