I saw the glint of gold in the dirt and it WAS a ring but the VDI was a little high. After a wash I knew it was not solid gold but it WAS stamped 16K Filled which means 20% 16K by weight. It's a keeper but the highlight of the day was a Seated dime, 1889. Not that I haven't found my share of Seated coins but this dime completes my dime quest from the old school yard I have been hunting for 20 years. I have taken friends hunting there and they have found Seated dimes but no, not me........ until today.... :clapping: I guess my next goal for the old school yard is a half dime.

You should have seen his smile when he came through that door. Not knowing or not if the coin was a Barber or a Seated, he was in awe when the water cleaned it so he could see the "Seated" lady. That Seated dime is a pretty one. Congrats on you completing your dime finds from there. :clapping: HH, Nancy

Awesome finds. I bet you were pretty happy when you pulled the Seated.

When you say dime quest is it a Rosie, Merc, Barber, and Seated all from the same place??? I forgot to ask. My take for the day was 2 YIPPEE's a YIP and two dimes and 6 pennies all good ol' clad.

Yep and I included a clad dime too........ a Bust dime would be asking for too much, we rarely see those here in the Midwest but they have been found.

Did your new detector finally sniff out silver? :surrender: and with a seated no less, congrats.
