HEARING PROBLEM

I FOUND OUT RECENTLY THAT I HAVE A HIGH FREQUENCY HEARING PROBLEM SO I NOW WEAR HEARING AIDS.SOMEONE SUGGESTED I BUY BLACK WIDOW HEADPHONES.MY QUESTION IS---
IF I DID GET THESE SPECIAL,EXPENSIVE HEADPHONES DO I WEAR THEM OVER MY HEARING AIDS? WILL THINGS BE BETTER IF I JUST WEAR MY HEARING AIDS AND NO HEADPHONES? OR
WHAT IF I JUST WORE THE GOOD HEADPHONES? ANY RECOMENDATIONS?

Just a word of caution. My detector buddy wears hearing aids. Not long after he started wearing them we were out detecting. Some point/points during the day he lost both hearing aids. He decided when pulling off the headphones they must have come out. We spent 2-3 hours going back to areas that he knew he removed his phones so we could talk. We did recover one of them but not both. So now he never wears them when detecting with headphones. Just something to keep in mind............HH

I agree with C&R...most of us have hearing loss to some extent, hell, I cant hear out of one ear and only half out of the other, get those headphones with dual volume control for each can seperate, that way you can balance the tones coming in to your head. Dont need those hearing aids to hunt with, the headphones are plenty good.

Without knowing what frequencies your hearing loss is....You might find that you don't need to use the hearing aids or buy another set of headphones, if you set the audio frequencies to a lower level that you can hear better. For example, Combined Audio allows you to adjust the audio response for 4 conductive "bins" and one ferrous "bin". You can set them all at various low frequency levels, and still allow for audio separation. JMHO HH Randy

Good advice Digger. I use Sun-Ray Pro Gold headphones and combined audio. You can set the audio bins and then play the tones back until you find something that works. Good luck. HH

THANKS FOR THAT INFO.I SURE WILL NOT WEAR HEADPHONES OVER MY HEARING AIDS I CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE ONE.

I have very bad hearing and have the BTE aids as my hearing is so bad and total on some real high tones. If I try to use headphone with my aids I get solid feedback squeal, so I can not use them and even if I could I don't think I would as they would get wet and short out. I use a set of Uni Probe on my CTX as they have enough volume so I can hear plus I have a great pin pointer too. On my Sovereign I have to use a set of the Timberwolfs to get the best volume and tones, but on my Explorer and E-Trac I found only 2 sets that give me the best volume and they were the Troy Pros and a set of Bushmasters. I tried many different sets over the years and found out that some headphones work better on one detector while on another detector a different set works better, but all of mine I have to have a good fit so it blocks out the back ground noise which most good headphones made for detecting have the good ear cups on them.
I tried the Black Widows and the Sun Ray Pro Golds too and love them, but just not enough volume for me and my real bad hearing.
I lost one of my aids one day too as when I took them off I put them in my shirt pockets, but now I learned to leave them in the car.

Different speaker will offer better tone adjustment, while looking for speaker for skullies I found many hunters have different hearing abilities.
