Hearing Aides and Headphones:ranting:

So I unfortunately have genetic nerve deafness and have moderate hearing loss . I do wear hearing aides . And it creates some issues when it comes to wearing headphones . If anything comes to close or covers up hearing aides they tend to produce a squelching , feedback type tones that are very annoying , it would be like running IRON AUDIO on full volume all day long to someone with good hearing lol . So wearing the Garrett headphones leaves me no choice but to take out my hearing aides while I detect , which no doubt makes it a challange having 60-70% heaing tone loss . So I went out an bought a pair of Skull Crusher headphones that should eliminate all these issues and Im going to give them a try today and see what happens . I will re post results and feedback . Hoping that maybe Im not alone on this and can also give somebody an outlook in the future if they have these same issues ! Any thoughts ideas or stories would be great !

Hi megatorque,

I'm interested to hear how those headphone work out for you. I'm in denial about needing hearing aids myself but I'll have to give in soon enough. One of my concerns with the aids is the impact on metal detecting.

Hope they work out well for you.

So I got to try out the new setup with headphones where I can actually wear my hearing aids while I detect . Big surprizes ! Almost all the tones sound completely new and different . Not that it is a bad thing , but it could take some time to adjust to the new tones . I can hear the low tones that I could not hear before also . I placed some coins down on the groundand did a few dry runs to to get a listen , turns out quarters still sounds sweet as ever and dimes also . pennies seem a little more pronounced . I am going to give it a few weeks and see what happens . With all this being said one question I have is anyone who uses the grey ghosts experience any tone changes from garrett stock headphones or any other type when you made the transition ??? Your feedback is appreciated in advance and thank you ! HH Garrett friends !
