we had a four day getaway reserved in Mackinaw City,starting Monday,Labor Day,.HOWEVER,we had to cancel,bummer
....But,I just read on Facebook,it may be not so bad,after all: I just read on Facebook,a posting from MDOT,,saying this: "I-75 is scheduled TO BE CLOSED AT MILE 282, or the GAYLORD EXIT,ON MONDAY,SEPTEMBER 4,2017,TO LESSEN THE IMPACT OF VEHICLE TRAFFIC BEING BANNED FROM THE MACKINAW BRIDGE THIS YEAR,FOR THE LABOR DAY BRIDGE WALK".......THAT IS REAL CLOSE.to 60 MILES SOUTH OF THE MACKINAW BRIDGE!!!!
......They are citing security reasons,for allowing no vehicle traffic this year,first time doing this.They say i'I-75 is scheduled to be tentatively closed from 9:30-11:30 AM',MONDAY',meaning it could be ALL DAY LONG........They say an alternative route is exit 282,east to US23,then north- Everybody on a rural,two lane highway,going to Mac City......GRIDLOCK!!!!
